What happened

The episode as NWS CAR wrote it up.

Intense low pressure tracking northward across Maine produced strong winds across portions of Downeast Maine. Sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph...with gusts of 50 to 60 mph...were common. The winds toppled trees...downed tree limbs and power lines which contributed to power outages. At the height of the storm...in excess of 7000 customers were without power. The strongest winds generally occurred along the immediate coast where several boats were torn from their moorings. Some of these boats washed ashore while others sank.
