Lightning started a 500 acre fire outside of Pocatello on the east benches between Pocatello Creek and Buckskin Roads. 60 homes had to be evacuated and families were sent to shelters. Fire was eventually contained by 7/8 with no damage to homes. The fire got as close as 100 yards to the nearest homes before being completely contained.
