PUBLIC REPORT.The Atlanta radar (KFFC), 48 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 04:19 UTC.

The Meriwether county 911 center reported that several trees were blown down across the southern part of the county from Cove to Durand. In addition, a tree fell on a mobile home in Durand.
An employee of the State Forestry Commission reported that some trees were down on Georgia Highway 190 in the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park.
The Toombs county sheriff reported that numerous trees were down across the county, especially the southern part.
The Dooly county 911 center reported that two trees were down in the city.
The Upson county Emergency Management Director reported that trees were blown down.
The Americus Times-Recorder reported that lightning struck an entertainment cabin/resort referred to as the "Quack Shack". The resulting fire completely destroyed the cabin. The cabin had been used since the early 1980s as a fun place to visit and a leisurely abode for many people, including lawyers, doctors, and even the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
The Taylor County News reported that a roof was blown off a barn on a farm just northeast of Butler off Georgia Highway 137. The roof traveled nearly 300 feet before landing in the residents driveway.
The Chattahoochee county 911 center reported that several large trees were down on roads within the Fort Benning Military Reservation.
The Fort Benning military police reported that numerous trees and some power lines were down in the southeast part of Columbus.
