NARRATIVE SYNOPTIC DISCUSSION FOR AMERICAN SAMOA AND THE INDEPENDENT STATE OF SAMOA TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY... SATELLITE PICTURES SHOW THAT SKIES HAVE BECOME MOSTLY CLOUDY OVER SAMOA OVER THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS WITH SOME LIGHT SHOWERS BEING REPORTED. A SURFACE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE LIES JUST TO THE NORTH OF YOU BUT THIS IS NOT HELPING KEEP MOISTURE FROM A FRONTAL SYSTEM WELL TO YOUR SOUTH FROM MOVING INTO YOUR AREA. THE AVN MODEL KEEPS THIS MOISTURE AREA JUST TO YOUR SOUTH SO LITTLE CHANGE IN YOUR WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THUS YOU WILL HAVE PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH THE SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS. WINDS WILL BE GENERALLY FROM THE NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 KNOTS. A SOUTHERLY SWELL OF 3 TO 5 FEET WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE PERIOD. OUTLOOK FOR SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... THE RIDGE IS FORECAST TO MOVE BACK OVER THE SAMOAN ISLANDS... RESULTING IN LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS. SKIES WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS. THE SOUTHERLY SWELL WILL SLOWLY DIMINISH. NARRATIVE DISCUSSION FOR TUVALU TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY...TUVALU TIME... SATELLITE PICTURES SHOW AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS JUST TO THE EAST AND NORTHEAST OF FUNAFUTI.
