NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI

ETA NOW MORE IN LINE WITH AVN. ETA HAS TOTALLY BACKED OFF THE
INTENSITY AND SPEED OF DEVELOPMENT OF SURFACE LOW OVER THE FLORIDA
PENINSULA. BOTH MODELS NOW HAVE A SURFACE TROUGH/LOW OVER THE
EASTERN GULF WITH MAIN LOW OVER THE WESTERN GULF (ALTHOUGH THE ETA
STILL HAS THE STRONGEST FEATURE). THIS KEEPS US UNDER THE MOIST
SOUTHEAST FLOW WHICH SEEMS REASONABLE. ALSO SURFACE RIDGING REMAINS
IN PLACE OVER THE CAROLINAS EXTENDING EAST INTO THE ATLANTIC. PWAT
LEVELS REMAIN NEAR TWO INCHES OR MORE THROUGH THE PERIOD AND WITH
STEERING FLOW REMAINING WEAK STORMS WILL BE SLOW MOVERS.
CONCENTRATION AS STATED ABOVE WILL BE INTERIOR AND WEST COAST WITH
SOME PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS. AT ANY RATE TIMING WILL TEND TO
FAVOR LATE NIGHT AND MORNING ALONG THE EAST COAST AND AFTERNOON INTO
EVENING FOR INTERIOR AND WEST COAST. MORE TYPICAL OF JULY THAN THE
FIRST SEVERAL DAYS.
EXTENDED...LITTLE CHANGE SEEN ALTHOUGH THE SURFACE RIDGE WILL SINK
SOUTHWARD TO SOUTH FLORIDA BY THURSDAY. IT DOES NOT APPEAR AT THIS
TIME THAT IT WILL GET ANY FARTHER SOUTH SO WE DO NOT GO BACK TO
SOUTHWEST FLOW BUT INSTEAD REMAIN SOUTHEAST TO SOUTH.
MARINE...NO HIGHLIGHTS HERE WITH GRADIENT REMAINING WEAK. WINDS WILL
BE SOUTHEAST UNTIL THURSDAY AT WHICH TIME THEY BECOME A LITTLE MORE
SOUTHERLY AND THEN FRIDAY SOUTH EVERYWHERE. SPEEDS WILL BE 10 TO 15
KNOTS FOR MONDAY THEN BACK TO 10 KNOTS TUESDAY AND BEYOND.
.CRYSTAL FACE...NO CHANGES HERE FROM PREVIOUS COUPLE OF DISCUSSIONS.
SURFACE WINDS INCREASE ON MONDAY FROM THE SOUTHEAST WITH SOUTHEAST
STEERING FLOW UP THROUGH 50H. SURFACE WIND SPEEDS WILL BE ABOUT 15
KNOTS THEN WEAKEN TO 10 KNOTS ABOVE 60H LEVEL. THIS WILL TEND TO
FOCUS SHOWER DEVELOPMENT ALONG THE EAST COAST IN THE LATE NIGHT AND
MORNING HOURS WITH MOVEMENT TO THE NORTHWEST. AS THE DEVELOPMENT
OCCURS DURING THE LATE MORNING, FORWARD SPEED WILL BE ABOUT 5 TO 10
KNOTS AND THEN AS THEY BUILD INTO TSRA, FORWARD SPEED WILL SLOW WITH
THE WEAKER UPPER FLOW. ANVILS WILL TEND TO FAVOR LOCATIONS PRETTY
MUCH DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BASES AS WIND FLOW AT 30H TO 25H IS NORTH TO
NORTHWEST AT ONLY 5 TO 10 KNOTS.
