THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS MORNING IS CENTERED AROUND A VORT MAX AND THE NEW ETA MODEL MOVES THIS VORT MAX TO THE NORTH NORTHEAST INTO THE NORTHERN ZONES BETWEEN 20Z AND 21Z. THIS TIMING ALSO NEAR MAX HEATING SO MAIN REASON FOR THE STRONGER WORDING IN IDAHO ZONES 11 AND 13 AND OREGON ZONE 62. REST OF THE ZONES LOOK GOOD FOR TODAY AS SURFACE HEATING WILL HELP WITH THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. TONIGHT UPPER LEVEL LOW CONTINUES TO MOVE TO THE EAST WITH ENOUGH DYNAMICS AHEAD OF THIS FOR CONTINUED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THROUGH THE NIGHT. One man was killed instantly when struck by lightning while moving an aluminum irrigation pipe on an alfalfa farm near Sunnyslope. A second man, standing about four feet away, received serious burns to the head and shoulder.
