SYNOPSIS...AN UNSEASONABLY STRONG AND COOL STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING
VERY STRONG WINDS AND MUCH COOLER TEMPERATURES TO THE MOJAVE DESERT
AND SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN TODAY. ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
BRING ADDITIONAL COOLING AND MORE WIND TO THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY.
DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL STILL BE ABOVE NORMAL AT MOST PLACES
TODAY...BUT LOWER TO NEAR NORMAL BY MIDWEEK.
DISCUSSION...WINDS HAVE BEEN GUSTING THIS MORNING WITH SOME AREAS
REACHING OVER 50 MPH. 12Z NGM GUIDANCE WAS SHOWING SUSTAINED WINDS
IN THE VEGAS VALLEY OF 35 TO 37 KTS BETWEEN 18Z AND 00Z THIS
AFTERNOON. STRONG AREA OF SUBSIDENCE NOTED OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF
THE CWA AND DO EXPECT THIS TO HELP INCREASE THE WIND SPEEDS OVER
MUCH OF THE AREA. WIND WARNINGS AND ADVISORIES STILL LOOK GOOD
THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON....BUT WINDS DO DECREASE SIGNIFICANTALLY
TONIGHT. ANOTHER AREA OF CONCERN ARE WITH THUNDERSTORMS OVER
NORTHERN NYE AND LINCOLN COUNTIES. AREA OF INSTABILITY OVER THIS
REGION AS COLDER AIR ALOFT FILTERS INTO THE REGION. EXPECT THESE
