NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LITTLE ROCK AR
340 PM CDT THU JUN 13 2002

SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED ACROSS MAINLY THE
SOUTHEAST SECTION OF THE CWFA. MCS OVER EASTERN OKLAHOMA CONTINUES
TO MOVE EAST AND IS NEARING OUR WESTERN EDGE OF OUR CWFA. SEVERAL
SURFACE BOUNDARIES ARE NOTED ON VISIBLE SATELLITE IMAGERY AND HENCE
THE AREAS OF COVECTIVE INITIATION. EXPECT SEVERAL OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES
AHEAD OF THE MCS AND THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON.

A COLD FRONT WAS LOCATED NEAR THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE STATE.
THIS FRONT WILL SLOWLY MOVE TO THE SOUTHEAST TONIGHT. DECIDED TO
STAY WITH THE AVN AS IT HAS HANDLED THE MCS OF TODAY QUITE WELL.
WITH PLENTY OF MOISTURE AND THE FRONT PROVIDING THE LIFT...
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE EXPECTED TONIGHT ESPECIALLY OVER THE SOUTHERN
HALF OF THE CWFA. DEW POINTS ARE STILL RATHER HIGH...FROM THE MID
60S IN THE NORTHWEST TO THE MID 70S CENTRAL AND SOUTH AND WINDS HAVE
TURNED WEST ACROSS MOST OF THE STATE.

TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOLER TOMORROW BEHIND THE FRONT WITH DRIER AIR
IN PLACE. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE AREA ON FRIDAY. WILL
LEAVE JUST A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH
FOR THE MORNING HOURS. FRIDAY NIGHT WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR UNDER HIGH
PRESSURE. THE HIGH SHIFTS TO THE EAST BY SUNDAY. A SHORT WAVE WILL
MOVE THROUGH THE AREA SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY AND WILL REQUIRE A
CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST.

HIGH PRESSURE MOVES IN AGAIN ON TUESDAY TO PROVIDE DRY WEATHER FOR
THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
