AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LITTLE ROCK AR 1102 AM CDT THU JUL 18 2002 UPDATED ZONES TO INCREASE POPS IN THE NORTH TO LIKELY. ALSO LOWERED MAX TEMPERATURES NORTH AND CENTRAL. KLZK RADAR CONTINUES TO SHOW A SWATH OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE NORTH HALF OF ARKANSAS. HEAVY RAINS HAVE FALLEN ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS. SATELLITE IMAGES SHOW THE BACK EDGE OF THE CURRENT MCS NEAR THE OKLAHOMA BORDER. PRECIPITATION SHOULD DECREASE OVER THE NEXT 3 HOURS OR SO BUT THE FOCUS WILL CONTINUE MOVING NORTH. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL FIRE UP LATER THIS AFTERNOON AS THE UPPER TROUGH OVER NORTHERN ARKANSAS MOVES SOUTHWARD.
