HEAT INDICES WERE GENERALLY IN THE 105 TO 109 RANGE AT THE PEAK TEMPERATURES. THE HEAT INDEX AT MARIANNA BRIEFLY REACHED 110 DEGREES AT 5 PM. THE SEA BREEZE DID NOT PENETRATE VERY FAR INLAND AND AS OF 01Z IT IS JUST SOUTH OF TLH. 00Z KTLH SOUNDING NOT AS MOIST OR UNSTABLE AS THE 12Z RUN. THE SOUNDING SHOWS THAT THE ATMOSPHERE HAS WARMED IN THE PAST 24 HOURS FROM THE SURFACE TO 800 MB BUT HAS COOLED SLIGHTLY FROM 800 MB TO 600 MB. ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED LATE THIS AFTERNOON...MAINLY NORTH OF THE SEA BREEZE FRONT AND OVER OUR FLORIDA COUNTIES. A hog barn was destroyed, and the roof off a neighboring barn was ripped off. Several headstones and the graveyard were damaged by a downed tree at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. From County Road 158 to Highway 14, there were numerous downed trees. Reported by the Madison County EMA.
