Heavy snow was reported by the Tok Cooperative weather observer. The report indicated that 6.6 inches of new snowfall occurred withing a 9 hour period. Heavy snow was also reported along portions of the Glenn Highway in the eastern Alaska Range by the Highway Department. These areas of heavy snow resulted as low pressure developed along the Alaska-Canadian border. This low brought significant moisture into these areas from the Gulf of Alaska which resulted in the heavy snowfall.
