High Wind in Alaska, February 24, 2002
High winds briefly occurred across portions of the western Arctic Coast as a southerly pressure gradient devloped between a low over the northwestern Bering Sea and a high pressure ridge over northern Alaska. Wind gusts up to 44 knots (51 mph) were reported at the Cape Lisburne AWOS.
