THE MODELS ARE FAIRLY SIMILAR NEAR TERM WITH SFC LOW DEVELOPING OVER
GA AND TRACKING NE THROUGH THE ERN CAROLINAS. THE DEEPER MOISTURE
APPEARS THAT IT WILL SLIDE JUST TO OUR SOUTHEAST...HOWEVER...WITH
DIGGING NRN STREAM UPPER LEVEL TROF THERE WILL BE A PERIOD OF UVM
ACROSS THE ENTIRE FCST AREA THIS MORNING. HAVE BEEN MONITORING
SATELLITE AND RADAR...AND LATEST TRENDS SUGGEST SOME WESTWARD
BACKBUILD OF PRECIP AS CLOUD LEAF EXPANDS NORTHWARD IN RESPONSE TO
THE DIGGING TROF. UPSTREAM SFC OBS INDICATE ABOUT 2 TENTHS OF AN
INCH OF LIQUID ALONG THE BACKSIDE OF THE PRECIP SHIELD...AND THIS IS
FAIRLY CLOSE TO MODEL FCST WITH UPWARDS OF A QUARTER INCH OF LIQUID
FCST OVER OUR FCST AREA TODAY.

THE BIG FCST CHALLENGE FOR TODAY IS P-TYPE. AT THE PRESENT
TIME...COLUMN TEMPS ARE WARM ENOUGH TO SUPPORT RAIN ACROSS THE
ENTIRE CWA. MODELS ARE FCSTNG A RAPID COOLING OF THE COLUMN WEST OF
THE BLUE RIDGE BETWEEN 09 AND 15 UTC...RESULTING IN A P-TYPE CHANGE
FROM RAIN TO SNOW. CURRENT THINKING IS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WILL
SEE THE CHANGE OVER FIRST...AND WILL HAVE THE GREATEST CHC OF
RECEIVING ENOUGH ACCUMULATION TO WARRANT ADVISORIES. THE HIGHEST
QPF APPEARS THAT IT WILL BE IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF THE CWA...SO
WILL CONFINE THE ADVISORIES THERE...SEE WWA PROPOSAL.

EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE...THICKNESSES SUGGEST THE ENTIRE EVENT WILL
BE ALL RAIN. HOWEVER...WILL KEEP THE FCST CONSISTENT FROM THE
PREVIOUS RUN WITH MENTION OF POTENTIAL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW OR A MIX
BEFORE ENDING.

HIGH TEMPS TODAY WILL BE WHATEVER THEY ARE AT 12 UTC. WL ENTERTAIN
FALLING TEMPS...ESP IN THE WEST WHERE CAA WILL KICK IN THIS AFTN.

UPPER TROF WILL SUPPORT CONTINUATION OF SHSN IN THE MTNS
TONIGHT...TAPERING TO FLURRIES TUESDAY. WEDNESDAY AND THE FIRST
PART OF THURSDAY LOOKS DRY. ACCORDING TO THE 00 UTC AVN...THE NEXT
SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE A FAST MOVER...SO MAY HAVE TO DO SOME ADJUSTING
TO THE WEEKEND FCST BY ELIMINATING SOME OF THE FCST PRECIP THAT IS
MENTIONED IN THE LATER PERIODS. WILL TAKE A PEEK AT THE MRF FIRST.
