Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Another strong storm pounded Northern Utah, resulting in 3 fatalities. A 9-year-old girl was killed when a snowplow lost control in heavy snow and low visibilities, colliding into a school bus near Delta. Twelve other children were injured in the accident. Also, a head-on collision in heavy snow and icy roads resulted in 2 deaths in Spanish Fork Canyon. A 43 and a 52 year old woman were killed, and a 48 year old woman received serious injuries in the crash. The snow also caused hundreds of minor accidents throughout the valley.Storm totals were impressive, especially along the Northern Wasatch Front. Some snow totals included 32 inches at Sundance, 20 inches in North Ogden and East Layton, 19 inches at Snowbird and Nordic Valley, 18 inches at Alpine, 15 inches in Eden, 14 inches in Bountiful, 13 inches in North Orem, Centerville and Pleasant Grove and 12 inches in South Ogden.

THROUGH TODAY. AS THE STORM MOVES INTO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES TONIGHT
THE ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHWEST UTAH BY MIDNIGHT
AND TO SOUTHEAST UTAH BY NOON FRIDAY.
.DISCUSSION...JET DIVERGENCE FORECAST TO BE OVER NORTHERN UTAH AT
06Z HAS BEEN SLOW TO MOVE OVER NORTHWEST UTAH. ETA HOLDS THE
BULLSEYE OF DIVERGENCE FROM REACHING THE SLC AREA UNTIL ABOUT 18Z,
HOWEVER THE AVN IS FASTER (MOVING OVER SLC BY 12Z) AND BETTER AS FAR
AS CURRENT SATELLITE SHOWING COOLING TOPS MOVING INTO NORTHWEST UTAH
AT THIS TIME. THIS DELAY WILL LIKELY MEAN THE SNOW AMOUNTS IN SOME
NORTHERN ZONES WILL NOT BE MET OVERNIGHT.
THE AREA OF DIVERGENCE SPREADS ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE THIS
AFTERNOON AND THE POTENTIAL VORTICITY ADVECTION (PVA) INCREASES AT
BOTH 500 AND 300 MB DURING THIS PERIOD. ALSO TEMPS AT 500 START TO
COOL FASTER THAN 700 MB TEMPS BY LATE THIS MORNING AND THIS
DESTABILIZATION CONTINUES THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. THIS SHOULD
ALLOW AREAS FAVORED BY SOUTHWEST FLOW TO DUE WELL THROUGH THIS
AFTERNOON. HOWEVER, HERE IN THE SLC AREA THE OQUIRRH MOUNTAINS
SNOW/RAIN SHADOW EFFECT MAY PREVENT MUCH FROM HAPPENING IN
THE MOST OF THE VALLEY.
NOT ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT THE ADVISORY IN THE SOUTHWEST VALLEYS AS
ONLY A BRIEF PERIOD OF UPPER LEVEL DYNAMICS MOVES ACROSS THAT
PORTION OF THE STATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY EVENING. AND WHAT
IS LEFT OF THE COLD FRONT ACROSS THAT AREA IS RATHER WEAK
TONIGHT. WILL NOT DROP ADVISORY BUT LOWER AMOUNTS FOR NOW.
LOW LEVELS REMAIN RATHER DRY OVER SOUTHEAST UTAH AND THEREFORE ANY
UPSLOPE DEVELOPING FOR THE PRICE (CASTLE COUNTRY) AREA WILL BE
SOMEWHAT MOISTURE STARVED. MODELS DONT NOT SHOW MUCH PRECIP DURING
THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND HAVE TO AGREE WITH THIS. WILL LOWER HEAVY SNOW
WARNING TO SNOW ADVISORY.
REST OF ADVISORIES AND WARNING OKAY WITH BUT AMOUNTS MAY BE ON THE
HIGH SIDE. WILL ADJUST ACCORDINGLY. THE COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH
THE NORTHWEST UTAH TONIGHT WITH LIS DIPPING DOWN TO NEAR 0. SO A
GOOD BURST OF SNOW LIKELY OVER NORTHWEST ZONES. PROBLEM IS THAT
TO NORTHWEST FLOW DOESNT SET UP UNTIL ABOUT 12Z SO SNOW MAY BECOME
QUITE SHOWERY AFTER THIS EVENING. HOWEVER, THE CONTINUED INSTABILITY
SHOULD PROVIDE THE NECESSARY AMOUNTS OF SNOW FOR THE ADVISORY IN
SALT LAKE AREA TO VERIFY. COLDEST PORTION OF 500 MB TROUGH MOVES
THROUGH MIDDAY FRIDAY THEN WARMING ALREADY BY EVENING TO SHUT OFF
SNOW.
WARM ADVECTION SETS UP OVER NORTHERN UTAH SATURDAY FOR CHANCE OF
LIGHT SNOW OR SHOWERS...MAINLY MOUNTAINS. SOME JET DIVERGENCE
SUPPORTS LIFT SATURDAY OVER NORTHERN UTAH AS WELL. BY SUNDAY THERE
