AS THESE VORTICIES COLLIDE WITH THE MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR MASS OVER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND THE HILL COUNTRY TONIGHT AND FRIDAY...EXPECT MORE LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN EVENTS ON TOP OF WHAT WEVE ALREADY RECEIVED LAST NIGHT AND TODAY. WRThe Austin/San Antonio radar (KEWX), 102 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 23:31 UTC.
2 flash flood. Local standard time, as filed.
In addition to rainfall overnight, additional 1 to 2 inches across the county caused widespread flash flooding in the southeast corner of the county. The flash flooding was brief and the only damage was to unimproved roads.
Rainfall from mid-morning through the afternoon brought county totals to 4 to 6 inches over the western part of the county. Widespread flash flooding was reported from Martindale through Luling. Several families in low-lying areas were forced to evacuate. Several homes and mobile homes were flooded out as well. Widespread damage was reported to county roads and bridges.
