AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORMAN OK 328 AM CST THU FEB 15 2001 A MESSY... MESSY MORNING... AT LEAST ON BRIDGES IN THE METRO. FZDZ/ FZRA HAS PRESISTED MUCH OF THE MORNING FROM SOUTHWEST TO CENTRAL PORTIONS OF OKLAHOMA MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF INJURY ACCIDENTS ALREADY THIS MORNING ON INTERSTATE BRIDGES IN THE OKC METRO INCLUDING THE BELLE ISLE BRIDGE... THE CROSSTOWN BRIDGE AND THE AMARILLO JUNCTION. RIGHT NOW THINGS ARE REMAINING LIQUID IN SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS. THE MAIN BAND OF PRECIP HAS MOVED INTO EASTERN OKLAHOMA BUT PATCHES CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTHEAST TWO-THIRDS OF MY CWA. AM CONCERNED ABOUT HOW THE MODELS ARE REDEVELOPING PRECIPITATION TODAY WITH QPFS OF 1/3 TO 1/2 INCH ACROSS CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. ALTHOUGH WITH THESE QPFS I WAS CONSIDERING AN ICE STORM WARNING IN CENTRAL SECTIONS... WILL KEEP IT A FZRA ADVISORY AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE... /A/ RIGHT NOW THE GROUND IS RELATIVELY WARM AND THIS LOOKS TO BE MAINLY A BRIDGE AND OVERPASS PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH THIS MORNING... AND /B/ DO NOT COMPLETELY TRUST TO THIS MORNINGS MODEL QPFS AND DO NOT WANT TO BITE ON A WARNING UNTIL I CAN SEE THE REDEVELOPMENT THAT THE MODELS EXPECT.
