MID AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS ARE SPREADING ACROSS EASTERN OREGON AND SE
WASHINGTON. THE MOISTURE IS ASSOCIATED WITH A VERTICALLY STACKED
LOW OFF THE SW OREGON COAST. THE LOW WILL WEAKEN AS IT MOVES ACROSS
THE FORECAST AREA TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING. LIGHT RAIN OR SNOW
WILL BEGIN OVER THE DESCHUTES PLATEAU LATER THIS MORNING AND SPREAD
NORTH THROUGH THE DAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP DOWN TO THE VALLEY
FLOORS TONIGHT AND MAYBE AS LOW AS 1500 FEET BY MONDAY MORNING. THE
BIG QUESTION IS HOW MUCH SNOW WE WILL RECEIVE WITH THIS SYSTEM.
AGREE WITH PREVIOUS DISCUSSION THAT SNOW WILL REMAIN BELOW ADVISORY
CRITERIA AS THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE RATHER QUICKLY. WILL NEED TO
MONITOR WINDS IN THE GRANDE RONDE VALLEY AS SOUTH WINDS WILL
INCREASE TO VERY WINDY CONDITIONS...YET DO NOT ANTICIPATE WINDS IN
WARNING CRITERIA.

High winds affected the Foothills of the Blue Mountains from Milton - Freewater to Pendleton. A spotter near Helix measured a 50 mph wind gust just before noon. Sustained 45 mph winds near Pendleton blew down several large branches. An landmark 3 foot diameter tree was downed in front of the Milton - Freewater Courthouse at 2 pm.
