UPPER RIDGE PERSISTS OVER EASTERN CONUS...WITH REMNANTS OF ALLISON
SPINNING OVER THE EASTERN CAROLINAS. WEAK SFC PATTERN CONTINUES
ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY WITH CONVERGENCE SETTING UP BETWEEN EASTERLY
FLOW NORTH OF TROPICAL REMNANTS AND SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW EAST OF GREAT
PLAINS LOW.

CONVECTIVE CLOUDS ARE FORMING IN THE ZONE OF CONVERGENCE NEAR THE
OHIO-INDIANA BORDER.  RADAR ALREADY SHOWS SHRA IN OWEN COUNTY
KENTUCKY.  OTHER CU HAVE FORMED ALONG OUR WESTERN PERIPHERY.  IN THE
PRESENCE OF AMPLE MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY MORE SCT TSRA SHOULD FORM
TODAY WHERE THE CU HAVE FORMED. THEREFORE...I'LL INCREASE POPS TO
30% IN OUR WESTERN COUNTIES.  20 POP SHOULD BE GOOD IN THE
EAST...WHERE AIRMASS IS SLIGHTLY DRIER.

HIGHS NEAR 90 LOOK GOOD WRT MORNING SOUNDING AND RECENT HIGH TEMPS
IN THIS STALE REGIME...SO NO CHANGES WILL BE &NEEDED TO TEMP FCST.

ONLY OTHER CHANGES WILL BE TO REVISE WORDING.

WILL REISSUE SPS CONCERNING HEAT.

...HOT AND HUMID WEATHER EXPECTED AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON...

A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE
HOT AND HUMID WEATHER.  TEMPERATURES WILL APPROACH THE 90 DEGREE
MARK THIS AFTERNOON...RESULTING IN A HEAT INDEX AROUND 95 DEGREES.

HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL COOL INTO THE 80 TO 85 DEGREE RANGE BY THE
WEEKEND.  IN ADDITION...HUMIDITIES LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LOWER
AS WELL.

HERE ARE SOME HEAT-RELATED SAFETY TIPS:

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER OR OTHER NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

WEAR LOOSE...LIGHTWEIGHT...LIGHT-COLORED CLOTHING.

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU USE YOUR FANS. A FAN POINTED DIRECTLY AT A PERSON
MAY DEHYDRATE THE PERSON BY REMOVING MOISTURE FROM THE SKIN.  USE A
CIRCULATING FAN INSTEAD TO MOVE AIR THROUGH THE ROOM.
