CHALLENGE FOR THE MORNING UPDATE CONTINUES TO BE THE SHOWER/
THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL ACROSS THE AREA FOR THE AFTERNOON. WATER
VAPOR IMAGERY SHOWS WAVE MOVING INTO SOUTHEAST ND ALONG THE
UPPER LEVEL JET. 12Z ETA PICKED UP WELL ON THIS FEATURE AND SHOWS IT
DIVING QUICKLY INTO SOUTHERN MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON. AT THE
SURFACE...BOUNDARY GETTING HARDER TO FIND...BUT BASICALLY ALONG A
LINE FROM KMOT TO KFAR TO KBJI. EXTENSIVE CLOUD COVER AND PCPN FOUND
ALONG AND NORTH OF THIS BOUNDARY. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE ON EITHER SIDE
OF THIS AREA OF CLOUDS. MSAS SHOWING NEGATIVE LI'S OVER SOUTHEAST ND
AND WEST CENTRAL MN. ETA ALSO TARGETS THIS AREA OF NEGATIVE LI'S AND
BEST H7 OMEGA AND TRACKS IT INTO MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON. WITH COLD
POOL REMAINING AT H5 AND BEST HEATING OVER THIS TAREA...SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS MENTIONED FOR THIS AREA IN INHERITED ZONE SET LOOKS
GOOD. WILL TRIM BACK TEMPS A BIT...ESPECIALLY ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS
UNDER THE THICKER CLOUD COVER.
