PATTERN TRANSITIONS IN THE OFFING AS SHORT RANGE MODELS CONTINUE TO
ADVERTISE SE U.S. LOW LEVEL RIDGE BECOMING DOMINANT PLAYER MON THRU
WED...WITH A RETURN TO SW-W FLOW FRI/SAT.

CURRENT/TONIGHT...CONVECTION FIRING ALONG SE FL COAST AND FIRMLY
EXPECT THIS ACTIVITY TO SPREAD NORTHWARD INTO MY SE COUNTIES. OVER
THE WEST/INTERIOR DRIER AIR MASS WILL KEEP CONVECTION SPORADIC AT
BEST AS THE WCSB PUSHES INTO THE INTERIOR, SO PROSPECTS FOR TODAY'S
ACTION BEING LATE AND PREDOMINANTLY SOUTH STILL LOOKS FINE. WILL
KEEP LOW-MED SCT POPS FOR TONIGHT...AND ALLOW EVE SHIFT TO TWEAK
DEPENDING ON WHAT THE RADAR LOOKS LIKE AT RELEASE TIME.

SUN/SUN NIGHT...COVERAGE LOOKS TO BE HIGHER THAN TODAY AS LARGE
SCALE ASCENT WILL COME INTO PLAY COURTESY OF AN H50 VORT AXIS THAT
ALL THREE SHORT RANGE MODELS DROP SOUTH INTO THE AREA BY 18Z. MODEL
H50 TEMPS NUDGE UP ANOTHER SCOSH TO -8C...HIGHER MEAN PWAT VALUES
REMAIN CLOSE TO THE EAST COAST AND STEERING FLOW BECOMES LIGHT NW-N.
DISTRIBUTION OF HIGHER POPS FOR TOMORROW LOOKS FINE.

MON/MON NIGHT...QUESTION REMAINS AS TO WHAT EXTENT THE WEAK WEAK
PRES TROUGH/WIND SHIFT WILL DROP SOUTH INTO THE CWA AND DRY THINGS
OUT ACROSS THE NORTH. ETA MOST AGGRESSIVE WITH THE SCENARIO...NGM
LESS SO...AVN NOT AT ALL WITH THE MOISTURE BAND AHEAD OF THE WEAK
TROUGH LOOKING ANTICYCLONIC BY H48. THE AVN SOLN MAY BE A FUNCTION
OF A WEAK RIPPLE IN THE SFC PRES FIELD AT H36-H54 OFFSHORE THE FL
WEST COAST. EVEN THOUGH I DON'T SEE THIS OCCURRING, IIRC THE ETA/NGM
TRIED TO DRY THINGS OUT WITH A SIMILAR EVENT LAST WEEK WHILE THE AVN
WAS CORRECT IN ITS' DISSENT. THEREFORE...WILL GO MORE CONSERVATIVE
AND NOT BUY INTO DRYING ACROSS THE NORTH...BUT STILL SHOW THE TREND
TOWARD RIDGE TO THE NORTH BECOMING DOMINANT IN TERMS OF PUSHING
ACTIVITY MORE TOWARD THE INTERIOR/WEST.

EXTENDED...DLM RIDGE AXIS STARTS OFF TO THE NORTH OF THE CWA TUE...
THEN DRIFTS SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA BY THU AS A TROUGH GRADUALLY GETS
CARVED OUT ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES AND EVENTUALLY THE OHIO/TN VALLEYS.
THIS WILL FLOP US BACK TO A SW FLOW REGIME BY SAT AND WILL SHOW THIS
FOR DAY 7. CURRENT EFP FOR DAYS 3-6 LOOKS GREAT AND WILL NOT CHANGE.

ONCE AGAIN...THANKS TO TBW FOR SHARING THOUGHTS.

MARINE...SAME SYNOPTIC PHILOSOPHY IN THE 00-48 AND DAY 3-4 TIME
FRAMES HAS BEEN FOLLOWED IN THE MARINE FORECAST AS WELL. PATTERN
WILL FAVOR MAINLY NOCTURNAL/EARLY MORNING SHRA/FEW TSRA...THEN
WANING AS THE DIURNAL ECSB CIRC AND SUBSIDENCE BECOME ESTABLISHED.
NOT MUCH MORE REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE TO THE CWF OTHER THAN TO ADD
A DAY ONTO IT.
