FORECAST TRENDS GOOD SO FAR. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ARE PROPAGATING INTO MORE STABLE AIR AND BELIEVE THEY WILL GRADUALLY
DIMINISH AS WE GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT. PLENTY OF OUTFLOWS HAVE COME
OUT OF STORMS THIS EVENING SO NEW DEVELOPMENT COULD POP UP MOST
ANYWHERE OUTSIDE THE MOUNTAINS FOR A BRIEF PERIOD. MAIN ACTIVITY
HOWEVER SHOULD REMAIN ALONG BEST CONVERGENCE AXIS FROM JUST EAST OF
SPARTANBURG TO WEST OF STATESVILLE.

I DO NOT PLAN TO UPDATE AT THIS TIME BUT MAY TOWARDS MIDNIGHT OF
THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DIMINISH AS EXPECTED.

Severe urban flooding in Shelby, with water up to car hoods and many streets flooded. One bridge was washed out in a rural part of Cleveland County. 290,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the First Broad River during the heavy rain; trees and power lines down also. Two people rescued from cars. An apartment building flooded. Creeks in the city of Shelby flooded. .
