CONVECTION HAS BEGUN FIRING ALONG A SURFACE TROUGH EXTENDING FROM
EAST CENTRAL NC...SW TO CENTRAL SC.  WEAK SHORT WAVE SUPPORT ALOFT
AND DIVERGENCE AT H3 IS LIKELY AIDING IN CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT.
FORECAST FOR THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD WILL REFLECT 50/50 POPS FOR THE
AREA.

BEYOND TONIGHT...A SURFACE FRONT OVER THE OHIO VALLEY WILL DROP
TOWARD THE STATE AND STALL NORTH OF THE FORECAST AREA.  UPPER
SUPPORT FOR PRECIP WEAKENS OUT IN TIME SO POPS THROUGH THE PERIOD
WILL SHOW A DECREASE COMPARED TO TONIGHT.  WITH THE FRONT EXPECTED
TO STALL NORTH OF THE AREA...LITTLE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED WED AND THU.

IN THE EXTENDED...WE REMAIN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE
THROUGH SAT AS THE FRONT STALLED TO OUR NORTH DISSIPATES.  ANOTHER
FRONT IS FORECAST BY THE MODELS TO AFFECT THE AREA LATE SAT AND
SUNDAY WITH FAIR WEATHER INDICATED FOR MONDAY.  IN LIGHT OF THE
RECENT TREND FOR MODEL GUIDANCE TO BRING FRONTS THROUGH IN THE 3-7
DAY PERIOD ONLY TO BACK OFF IN LATER RUNS...WILL GO WITH A FORECAST
THAT DOES NOT INDICATE FROPA.  SCT SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE
FORECAST FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND WITH LESSER COVERAGE EXPECTED
FRIDAY.
