AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY 950 PM CDT THU JUN 14 2001 AS EXPECTED...THE STRONGEST CONVECTION THIS EVENING SEEMS TO BE SPLITTING TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE AREA...BUT A WEAKENING LINE OF STORMS IS BEARING DOWN ON SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AT THIS TIME. THE EASTWARD EXTENT OF THE PRECIPITATION IS IN DOUBT...SO WILL BUMP UP POPS TO CATEGORICAL IN WESTERN-MOST ZONE GROUP...BUT WILL KEEP THEM IN CHANCE CATEGORY FURTHER EAST. Along Interstate 55 near Jackson, a parked semi-trailer was overturned by thunderstorm winds, and a billboard was damaged. The damage was reportedly near the 99-mile marker of the interstate. A carport was blown over in that general area.
