AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN 300 PM CDT TUE JUL 3 2001 MAINLY ISOLATED SHRA/TSRA DEVELOPED TODAY. MORNING ACTIVITY WAS A RESULT OF AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY THAT MOVED ACROSS THE REGION FROM THE NORTH. TONIGHT...EXPECT ANOTHER NIGHT OF CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AS AFTERNOON ACTIVITY DIES AFTER SUNSET. WILL KEEP SLIGHT CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS AS A COMPLEX MIGHT DEVELOP UPSTREAM AHEAD/ALONG THE FRONT TONIGHT. FOR THURSDAY AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE GREAT LAKES WILL DEEPEN AND MOVE EAST...THIS WILL ALLOW A COLD FRONT WHICH WAS IN NORTHERN MISSOURI TO MOVE FURTHER SOUTH INTO THE FORECAST AREA LATE THURSDAY. WILL CONTINUE TO MENTION TSRA FOR THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT. FOR FRIDAY...SLIGHTLY LESS HUMID CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR (BUT VERY TEMPORARY). DEWPOINTS STILL PROG TO BE IN THE UPPER 60S TO NEAR 70. FOR THE WEEKEND...UPPER LEVEL HIGH WHICH IS CURRENTLY OVER UTAH WILL MOVE SLOWLY EAST...TO JUST WEST OF THE ROCKIES BY THE WEEKEND. THE RIDGE WILL BE OVER THE AREA...SO EXPECT HOT DRY WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND AND MONDAY. AS FAR AS TEMPS...BELIEVE FWC'S HIGHS ARE TOO HIGH. WILL BE BETWEEN MAV'S/FWC'S NUMBERS. THICKNESS DO INCREASE A LITTLE ON FRIDAY AND MAV REFLECTS 1 DEGREE WARMER (NOT ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE RANGE IN TEMPS). MEG...NONE.
