Heavy snow of 10 to 14 inches along with strong north winds of 25 to 40 mph caused near blizzard conditions and very difficult travel conditions across Big Stone and Traverse counties. As a result, schools were closed or started late on the 26th and the 27th. Also, some businesses were closed. Some snowfall amounts included, 10 inches at Ortonville, 13 inches at Wheaton, and 14 inches at Browns Valley.
