AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DULUTH MN 210 PM CST WED DEC 5 2001 SURFACE LOW IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA CONTINUES TO DEEPEN AS IT NOW STARTS TO MOVE NORTHEAST INTO WESTERN ONTARIO. GRADIENT TIGHTENS... SO EXPECT BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS TO DEVELOP LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT FOR MOST OF THE AREA. CURRENT PRECIPITATION IS CONFINED AHEAD OF THE FRONT IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN WHERE SHOWERS AND ISOLATED T-STORMS ARE OCCURRING. SCATTERED LIGHT RAIN/SNOW IS ACROSS THE ARROWHEAD REGION BACK TOWARD INTERNATIONAL FALLS. MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO EXIT THE AREA EARLY THIS EVENING...ALSO EXPECT LOCALLY DENSE FOG TO IMPROVE AS WINDS INCREASE FROM THE SOUTHWEST-WEST. AFTER THIS EVENING EXPECT A DRY FORECAST THROUGH FRIDAY AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE AND DRY WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT PREVAIL. TEMPERATURES WILL COOL A FEW DEGREES EACH DAY AS A COOLER AIRMASS SETTLES INTO THE REGION. Beltz .DLH...NONE.
