A small tornado was spotted by law enforcement officers on Gum Island Road. The only damage was the tops of trees were tore off.

NEARLY STATIONARY FRONTAL SYSTEM BI-SECTING THE FORECAST AREA
THIS MORNING FROM KAEX TO KBPT. ABOUT A 20 DEGREE SPREAD ACROSS
THE BOUNDARY WITH TEMPS/DEWPOINTS IN THE 50S NORTH AND WEST
AND 70S TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF THE FRONT.

MEANWHILE...AIRMASS REMAINS VERY MOIST ACROSS THE FORECAST AS
GOOD SOUTHERLY FETCH JUST ABOVE THE SURFACE. PWAT OVER 1.5 INCHES
WHICH IS CLOSE TO 200 PERCENT OF NORM. UPPER AIR ANALYSIS SHOWS
UPPER LEVEL DIVERGENCE CONTINUES ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA.

UPPER LOW OVER WEST TEXAS AND NORTHERN OLD MEXICO WILL MOVE SLOWLY
OFF TO THE EAST TODAY AND ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA ON THURSDAY.
THEREFORE...FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL MAKE ONLY SLOW PROGRESS TO THE
EAST TODAY AND NOT CLEAR THE FORECAST AREA UNTIL THURSDAY.

THUS...MOIST ATMOSPHERE...GOOD LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE AND UPPER LEVEL
DIVERGENCE MEANS HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLE FLOODING WILL CONTINUE AND
FLOOD WATCH WILL BE EXTENDED TO COVER THE ENTIRE FORECAST AREA.
HEAVIEST RAINS AND SEVERE THREAT DURING THE MORNING HOURS WILL BE
JUST ALONG AND NORTH OF THE FRONTAL SYSTEM. DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT THIS AREA WILL SHIFT TO SOUTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA AS THAT AREA
WILL BE IN THE WARM SECTOR AS SURFACE LOW MOVES ACROSS.

LOOKS LIKE PRECIP AND CLEARING SHOULD BEGIN OVER SOUTHEAST TEXAS ON
EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE AREA LATE
THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO EVENING.

COOLEST TEMPS SHOULD OCCUR ON FRIDAY MORNING WITH A SLIGHT
MODERATION IN TEMPS OVER THE WEEKEND.
