A Skywarn storm spotter reported dime size hail and a few broken tree limbs near the south end of Carters Lake Dam.
Several reports of dime to quarter size hail were received from the public from Douglasville west to the western border of the county near Villa Rica. In one instance, a meteorologist with the Weather Channel reported that dime size hail covered the ground.

A storm spotter reported dime size hail in Trion. The Chattooga County 911 center reported dime to nickel size hail in Summerville.
The Chattooga County 911 center reported that two trees were blown down in Summerville and another was blown down onto a power line.
The Atlanta Journal and Constitution reported that two homes were struck by lightning and set on fire. The extent of damage was unknown and not reported. No injuries were reported.
The Forsyth County 911 center reported dime size hail on Georgia Highway 53 about one mile east-northeast of Chestatee.
A storm spotter reported nickel size hail 10 miles northwest of Gainesville near Maravilla, while amateur radio operators and the public reported nickel size hail in Gainesville.

The Rome News Tribune reported that thunderstorms, with very heavy rain, resulted in street flooding on Glenn Milner Boulevard.

The Thomaston Fire Department and an amateur radio operator reported dime size hail.

The public reported nickel size hail in Buckhead. The hail caused damage to a vehicle.
The Floyd County 911 center and the Rome News Tribune reported that numerous trees were blown down and several power lines were blown down or were downed by fallen trees, especially in Rome and Cave Spring. In one instance, a tree fell on a house on Edgewood Avenue. Much of the damage was along and near U.S. Highway 411. This damage continued west along U.S. 411 to the Alabama border. An amateur radio operator west of Cave Spring estimated the winds at 60 mph.
The Polk County 911 center and an amateur radio operator reported dime to golf ball size hail from near Fish and Fish Creek west to Cedartown. The golf ball size hail was confined to the Cedartown area.
The Rome News Tribune reported that two homes in Cave Springs were struck by lightning. While no fire resulted, there was minor damage to the house caused by the lightning strike. An electrical box was struck at yet a third house.
An amateur radio operator reported that a few trees were blown down, one on Georgia Highway 74.
The public reported that several sheets of tin were blown off a barn just west of Tyrone and a tree was blown down in Peachtree City.
The Atlanta Journal and Constituion reported that three homes were struck by lightning. Minor structural fires resulted. No injuries were reported.

The public, and an amateur radio operator, reported that several large limbs were broken off trees in the eastern part of Marietta and a tree was down on a house in Marietta.
