A 39-year old male was injured while fishing on an airboat in the everglades, 20 miles west of Everglades Holiday Park. It was raining heavily with frequent lightning at the time that the lightning struck the man's fishing rod. Another man in the boat contacted emergency officials, but help was delayed arriving due to the ferocity of the thunderstorm.
