CURRENT SATELLITE PICTURES SHOW SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING THROUGH THE
CENTRAL PLAINS WITH LARGE AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS FROM WESTERN
ARKANSAS THROUGH EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS.

DIFFICULT FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 36 HOURS IN REGARD TO CURRENT AREA
OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH VORTICITY MAXIMUM AHEAD OF
SHORTWAVE APPROACHING THE FORECAST AREA. TEMPERATURES AND RAIN
CHANCES TODAY WITH THREAT FOR POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER OVER SOUTHWEST
ARKANSAS AND EXTREME NORTHEAST TEXAS THIS MORNING. SURFACE MAP HAS
COLD FRONT FROM EASTERN KANSAS THROUGH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA INTO
NORTHWEST TEXAS.

MODELS HAVE FRONT CROSSING THE FORECAST AREA TODAY AND TONIGHT WITH
RAIN MOVING OUT OF THE SOUTHERN AREAS BY MONDAY MORNING. WILL KEEP
RAIN CHANCES HIGH TODAY OVER THE FORECAST AREA. WILL DECIDE AT THE
LAST MINUTE BASED ON ACTIVITY AT 400 AM JUST HOW HIGH TO GO
NORTHWEST SECTION WITH RAIN CHANCES. RAIN SHOULD DECREASE LATER THIS
MORNING FROM THE NORTHWEST AND SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AFTER
DYEING DOWN LATER THIS MORNING WILL REDEVELOP FARTHER EAST BY
AFTERNOON MOSTLY LIKELY OVER SOUTHEAST SECTIONS. BEST DYNAMICS SHIFT
NORTHEAST THIS MORNING SO WILL KEEP SEVERE OUT OF THE WORDING. HEAVY
RAINFALL THREAT SHOULD BE EARLY THIS MORNING  ROUGHLY ALONG AND JUST
SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 30 WHERE CURRENT ACTIVITY IS AT DISCUSSION TIME.
AS FOR TEMPERATURES RAIN AND CLOUDS SHOULD HOLD TEMPERATURES IN THE
MID 80S EXCEPT UPPER 80S SOUTHEAST. LOWS TONIGHT SHOULD DROP INTO
THE UPPER 50S NORTHWEST TO THE MID TO UPPER 60S CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN
SECTIONS. HIGHS MONDAY SHOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME AS SUNDAY WITH A
NORTH WIND. LOWS MONDAY NIGHT WILL BE A FEW DEGREES COOLER WITH
LIGHTER WINDS AND CLEAR SKIES.  09
