Building high pressure in the southeast Alaska mainland...and deepening low pressure areas in the Gulf of Alaska, caused arctic air to move seaward from the Alaskan interior. Gusty northerly winds were reported in many areas adjacent to Prince William Sound as the cold air moved south.Northerly winds were estimated close to 80 mph out of the Copper River Delta by a local air service (out of Cordova) Saturday. By Sunday morning, wind gusts had diminished to around 45 mph. Blowing dust and blowing sand reduced surface visibility frequently near the Copper River Delta and around the Million Dollar Bridge Saturday.
