Thunderstorms developed in an area of strong lift and unstable air along a cold front. Severe storms produced a few reports of large hail, up to quarter size, but wind damage was much more common. Trees and power lines were downed by high winds across much of north central and northeast Wisconsin and about 10,000 customers lost electrical power during the night in the Eagle River (Vilas co.), Rhinelander (Oneida co.) and Tomahawk (Lincoln co.) areas. Heavy rainfall from the storms caused some minor street flooding in Tomahawk.
