Thunderstorm winds downed a few large trees. One tree, a large maple planted in 1883 in front of the Kingwood courthouse, was blown over into an adjacent flagpole. As the flagpole bent to the ground, a bronze eagle atop the flagpole fell off, plunging into the hood of a nearby parked car. Trees were also reported down along SR 72 near Preston, and SR 7 in the Kanes Creek area.
