High winds associated with a rain squall knocked down several large trees and caused a house fire in the city of Yakima. A fire resulted in nine thousand dollars' damage in an in-home day care center. It started when a power surge caused by downed power lines overheated the house's electrical system. Power was also lost for around one hour to around 1000 customers nearby along State Highway 410.
