Isolated showers and thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall across the Shenandoah Valley between 4 and 6 PM EDT on the 1st. At Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park, 2.83 inches of rain fell. In Shenandoah County, 2.21 inches of rain was recorded at Camp Roosevelt. In Warren County, 2.66 inches fell on Hogback Mountain. During the early morning hours of the 1st, an isolated thunderstorm dropped heavy rainfall across Fairfax County. A total of 2.74 inches fell in Great Falls and 1.55 inches fell in Herndon. Mt. Weather in western Loudoun County reported 1.55 inches.
