What happened

The episode as NWS EWX wrote it up.

Heavy rain began falling near 0200CST in the San Antonio area, and spread over the following three hours into Kendall, Frio and Medina Counties just to the west and northwest of San Antonio. General 1 to 2 inch amounts were reported across the four county area, with isolated totals of up to 7 inches across eastern Medina County and western Bexar County. With much of the soil already saturated from rainfall in the first two weeks of October, widespread flash flooding developed quickly over the four county area closing roads and continuing through the early morning hours. The most damaging flooding took place along the Medina/Bexar County line. A portion of the town of LaCoste, in Medina County, w as flooded by the rising water, forcing evacuations of around a dozen homes. Schools were forced to close due to the numerous roadblocks, causing delays and great difficulties in returning students to their homes. Two homes were reported flooded near LaCoste in western Bexar County. Two other homes suffered minor flood damage in Boerne in Kendall County.
