An experienced storm chaser and professor of meteorology observed a tornado 30 miles south of Fort Stockton. Examination of radar data showed little evidence of large scale cyclonic rotation or storm structure. The storm environment did not appear to support storm scale rotation. Primary indications are that this tornado was of the landspout variety.
