Thunderstorms accompanied by an inch an a half of rain in a short time (including one report of an inch in 15 minutes) brought extensive street flooding to the downtown, central and eastern sections of the city. At least two lanes on Interstate 10 along with the access roads were closed, with water nearly 3 feet deep in some spots.
