The storms, which had a history of producing large hail in northeast Connecticut, also dropped large hail in Kent, Washington, and Newport Counties during the evening. Dime size hail was reported in West Greenwich, and hail the size of nickels fell in North Kingstown, Portsmouth, and Tiverton.
