Heavy rains of 1 to 2 inches overnight and storm totals of around 3 inches during the past twenty-four hours led to flooding along some of the streams in northern Delaware County. Crum Creek at Newtown Square reached its flood stage of 5.5 feet at 3 a.m. EDT, crested at 6.0 feet at 4 a.m. EDT and was back within bankfull at 5 a.m. EDT. Storm totals included 3.50 inches at Valley Forge (Chester County) and 2.86 inches at the Crum Creek Pump (Delaware County). A slow moving low pressure system that moved through New Jersey on the 26th, brought in tropical moisture into the region. Its slow movement permitted heavy rain to fall throughout the greater Philadelphia Metropolitan area from the morning of the 26th through the morning of the 27th. Most 36 hour storm totals were around 2 inches. No serious injuries were reported.
