The high winds were generated by a strong high pressure far south of the islands. The enhanched trades were mostly between 20-30 knots across the territory with highest peak gust of 44 kt recorded at Ofu, Manua on the 28th. The highest peak gust recorded at the Airport at Tafuna was 32 knots. The southeasterly trades also brought nice and cool weather across the territory. Damages were mainly to crops such as banana and breadfruits.
