Summary of winter weather for December 31 2000-January 1 2001.An upper level storm system over the Upper Midwest moved southeast across the Southern Plains on the morning of December 31 2000. A large area of moderate snow developed across central and eastern Oklahoma during the early morning hours. Snowfall amounts were generally in the 3 to 5 inch range across much of the area. The heaviest snow was along and west of a line from Tulsa Oklahoma to Fort Smith Arkansas.
