A 68 mph thunderstorm wind gust was measured in Avon Lake. Thunderstorm winds downed dozens of trees in Lorain and Avon Lake. A large tree fell on a house in Avon Lake and caused unrepairable structural damage. The house and its contents were a total loss. An adjacent garage was also blown down and destroyed.

Thunderstorm winds in excess of 60 mph did considerable damage across the western half of the county. In Brooklyn, thunderstorm winds damaged four buildings. Two of the buildings suffered extensive structural damage and had exterior walls blown down and roofs completely torn off. The remaining two suffered less severe damage, but still lost large sections of roofing. Cars in a nearby parking lot were damaged by blocks and other debris from the damaged buildings. Dozens of trees were reported down in Brooklyn, Berea, Lakewood and Bay Village.

A 77 mph thunderstorm wind gust was measured at the Fairport Harbor Light House. Dozens of trees were downed across the county by thunderstorm winds. Areas near Lake Erie were especially hard hit with considerable damage in Mentor and Madison. Several homes were damaged and two cars crushed by trees in Mentor. Also hard hit was Painesville where a car was destroyed by a fallen tree. Trees were also downed in Willoughby and Perry.

A 59 mph thunderstorm wind gust was measured in Chesterland.

A thunderstorm wind gust of 60 mph was estimated by an off duty NWS meteorologist.

A line of thunderstorms producing winds estimated at 60 mph moved across the county prior to daybreak. Dozens of trees were downed in Lorain, Amherst, Elyria and Vermilion. Two power poles were also knocked down and a car in Amherst was severely damaged by a fallen tree.

Thunderstorm winds measured at 60 mph downed dozens of trees in Cleveland, Garfield Heights and Euclid. Euclid was especially hard hit with several homes damaged by fallen trees. In downtown Cleveland, 13 windows were blown out of a government office building.

Thunderstorm winds estimated at 60 to 70 mph caused considerable damage across the county. Several hundred trees and 55 power poles were downed. Widespread damage was reported in Ashtabula, Pierpont, Andover, Jefferson and Geneva on the Lake. Major damage occurred at a campground just north of Andover where five homes were severely damaged by fallen trees. Over 50 trees were downed at the campground.
