Lake effect snow started when arctic air moved east across Lake Ontario into northwest Oneida County. In this area 6 to 12 inches fell. The Camden NWS cooperative observer received 11.8 inches for the two days. Maximum snowfall rates of 2 inches per hour occurred at the peak of the event during the early morning hours of the 23rd.
