Thunderstorms moved across the western southern tier during the afternoon hours. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines. Torrential rains resulted in localized poor drainage flooding. In Greenhurst, winds were estimated at 70 mph. The high wind lifted a Piper Cub off the water of Chautauqua Lake and crashed it onto a boat and a dock. The plane was a total loss.
