A complex low pressure system approached eastern New York on August 11. The leading edge of precipitation, arrniving during the midday hours, included scattered thunderstorms in the Mohawk Valley. One of the thunderstorm cells became locally severe in eastern Fulton county. The storm blew a few trees down in the town of Meco. A very large tree fell on top of a pick-up truck, crushing it.
