A lightning strike knocked out the Hardyston Township's police radio communication system. Lightning hit the antenna at the top of the municipal building. The computer-aided dispatch system was also damaged. Incoming 911 emergency calls were not affected. Calls to emergency personnel were routed through Sparta and Andover Townships.
