Winter Storm in New Mexico, March 21 to 23, 2000
A slow moving upper level storm produced gusty east winds and heavy upslope snow across northern and central New Mexico. Snowfall along the east side of the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque and also along the Sangre de Cristo Mountains northwest of Las Vegas measured 18-24 inches in about 30 hours.

A slow moving upper level storm produced gusty east winds and heavy upslope snow across northern and central New Mexico. Snowfall along the east side of the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque and also along the Sangre de Cristo Mountains northwest of Las Vegas measured 18-24 inches in about 30 hours. Amounts were generally 12-18 inches across the north central mountains and 8-12 inches along the Continential Divide west of Albuquerque.
