A nearly stationary thunderstorm with torrential downpours dropped around 3 inches of rain in parts of northwestern Monmouth County within an hour around 6 p.m EDT. This led to poor drainage flooding as well as stream flooding in the county. The Pine Brook exceeded its banks in Manalapan Township and street flooding was reported in Marlboro Township. No serious injuries were reported.
