The last in a series of winter storms to hit southeast Minnesota in December, produced 5 to 9 inches of snow. Specific reports from cooperative observers included 9.3 inches at Byron and Stewartville (Olmsted County), 9 inches at Grand Meadow (Mower County) and 8 inches at the Rochester International airport (Olmsted County) as well as Preston (Fillmore County). The city of Rochester established an all-time record for the most snow in a month, as well as the snowiest December, with a total of 35.3 inches.
